Subject: Renewing Economic and Community Growth in Buffalo, Wyoming
Dear Community Leaders and Neighbors,
In light of recent developments regarding JoCo First’s transition to a facility maintenance focus for Bomber Mountain, it has become clear that our community now faces an important opportunity. While we honor the contributions of JoCo First, their shift creates a void that we must fill—one that calls for a refreshed, forward-thinking economic development board with a clear mission to foster innovation, revitalize opportunities, and lay the groundwork for Buffalo’s sustainable future.
Buffalo, a town rich in history, tourism, and community spirit, must also serve as a foundation for tomorrow’s opportunities. While we remain a vibrant hub for retirees and visitors, we cannot neglect the future of our youth, workforce, and next generation of families. To achieve this vision, we need a dedicated group of like-minded individuals—both experienced leaders and fresh thinkers—committed to creating a collaborative framework that connects our town’s past, present, and future.
This new organization will:
Focus on fostering and supporting existing businesses while encouraging entrepreneurial innovation through modern technologies and strategies.
Revisit past projects and policies to uncover overlooked opportunities for success or repurpose previous initiatives with fresh perspectives.
Create pathways for local youth engagement, career development, and family-oriented activities to retain and attract young talent.
Build collaborations with city, county, and state officials to drive investment and infrastructure development for Buffalo.
Encourage a community where both old and new ideas thrive together, ensuring Buffalo remains a place where families can grow, careers can flourish, and dreams can take root.
We ask for the support of existing community leaders, stakeholders, and citizens who believe in Buffalo’s potential. Together, we can form a strong foundation to reimagine our community’s future while honoring its proud past.
To this end, I propose the formation of a new Economic Development Initiative called:
Buffalo Horizons: Business & Community Alliance
Honoring our roots. Building our future.
This name reflects the dual purpose of honoring Buffalo’s heritage while setting our sights on bold, promising horizons. It represents a collaborative alliance dedicated to nurturing businesses, uplifting community life, and inspiring opportunities for all.
I invite you to join in forming this organization—through shared ideas, leadership, and vision—to give Buffalo, Wyoming, the renewed direction it deserves. Let us rise together to foster a future worth living, building, and growing for generations to come.
